Media Release: CAO Bill Bradica Announces Planned Retirement

January 18, 2024 – Bill Bradica, Chief Administrative Officer of The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board (TBDSSAB) since 2012, has announced plans to retire at the end of December 2024.

“On behalf of the Board, I’d like to congratulate Bill on his retirement and thank him for his years of dedicated service to the district,” says Board Chair Brian Hamilton. “Bill leaves behind a legacy of organizational excellence and has been a tremendous asset to the Board. As Chair, I look forward to this final year working with Bill as we transition to new leadership.”

Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Bill Bradica first joined TBDSSAB in 2001 and climbed the ranks from Finance Manager to Director of Corporate Services before becoming Chief Administrative Officer in 2012. Bill is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds an Honours degree in Commerce. Prior to his time with TBDSSAB, Bill enjoyed a varied career working in public accounting and construction. He then began a public service career in the delivery and administration of community housing programs, with much of that experience working with First Nations and Urban Indigenous housing partners.

“I am so grateful for the opportunity to lead TBDSSAB in different roles over the last 22 years, and plan to make the most of my 23rd and final year with the organization. I look forward to continuing the strategic initiatives we have in progress and working with the Board to transition the organization to new leadership,” says Bradica. “I am grateful to the amazing team that I’ve had alongside me, and who have implemented so many important initiatives over the years.”

At its January meeting, the Board of Directors established a hiring committee to oversee the recruitment of a new Chief Administrative Officer.
