Notice to Public: Call for Nominations
Attention: Residents and property owners in the Territory Without Municipal Organization (TWOMO)* within the District of Thunder Bay.
Pursuant to Section 3.1(2) of Ontario regulation 278/98, under the District Social Services Administration Boards Act, there will be an election for one (1) representative(s) on the District Social Services Administration Board.
The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board (TBDSSAB) is seeking Nominations for Representation of the Territory Without Municipal Organization (TWOMO*) to represent Area 7.
Nominee Qualifications
You may be eligible to be a DSSAB Board member representing the TWOMO if you are a Canadian citizen and least 18 years old, and:
- A permanent resident of the TWOMO; or
- An owner or tenant of property in the TWOMO; or
- The spouse or partner of an owner or tenant of property in the TWOMO*.
The Position
- To represent the TWOMO of The District of Thunder Bay, effective January 1, 2027. The number of meetings, meeting dates and remuneration will be established by the Board.
- As a Board Member of TBDSSAB you will be responsible for providing strategic direction to the CEO for the development of social programs in the District of Thunder Bay and a budget of approximately $130 million. Per the District Social Services Administration Boards Act, “Territory Without Municipal Organization” for Area 7 in The District of Thunder Bay includes any area that is in between incorporated municipalities and that is not a First Nations community.
