Office Hours

March 31, 2022: Service recipients and members of the public visiting TBDSSAB offices will continue to be screened at the door. TBDSSAB is a Mask-Friendly space, meaning visitors entering the building will be encouraged to wear masks, but mask wearing will no longer be enforced.

Ontario Works Emergency Assistance

  • Expanded availability of Emergency Assistance, enabling the immediate provision of financial assistance to applicants in an emergency for basic needs, shelter and benefits.

Tenant Outreach and Food Security

  • Partnerships with local agencies to provide food security as needed
  • Vaccination clinic partnership for vulnerable tenants.
  • More outreach to tenants to offer support and resources.

Child Care Services

  • All Licenced Child Care programs adhere to Ministry of Education Operational Guidance for Child Care during COVID-19 Outbreak.

  • EarlyOn Child and Family Programs are offering virtual and in-person programming. Programs follow operational guidance protocol as per COVID-19 outbreak to ensure the safe delivery of programs.

For Organizations

Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative (CHPI) Emergency Pandemic Fund

  • Fund to provide financial support to organizations that are realizing increased or new costs in supporting people experiencing homelessness or preventing homelessness due to the COVID19 pandemic.
  • Application information:

Isolation & Overflow Shelter Programs

  • Per regular practice, community members should visit or call either Salvation Army or Shelter House to access services.
  • TBDSSAB has funded additional emergency shelter beds (i.e. Urban Abbey) and extended access to other emergency shelters (i.e. Grace Place).
  • TBDSSAB works in partnerships with community agencies to provide support to people who needed overflow sheltering with access through the emergency shelter system.
  • Organized isolation sheltering in partnership with other community organizations to meet the needs of the vulnerable community when isolation due to COVID-19 was required. Effective April 1, 2021, COVID-19 isolation sheltering is now coordinated by St. Joseph’s Care Group.
