Statement of Commitment

The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in inclusion and equal opportunity. We are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner, and will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

Accessibility Committee

The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board’s Accessibility Committee is responsible for advising the Board on the development and implementation of the Accessibility Plan and on issues relating to citizens with a disability.

The Committee will meet quarterly to review progress in meeting the requirements of the AODA and to monitor progress on implementing the accessibility plan and to determine that barrier-removal and barrier-prevention strategies are implemented effectively.

Multi-year Accessibility Plan

The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board implemented a multi-year accessibility plan to outline the strategies used to prevent and remove barriers for people with disabilities.
